Rick Stopfer was voted Mayor Pro Tem and Gerald Farris was voted Deputy Mayor Pro Tem during the City Council meeting September 1st.
Also discussed during that meeting, the first draft of redistricting map of possible new council districts. No sitting council member is drawn out of their current district with the proposed map. Also, under the proposed map, districts 1 and 7 are majority Hispanic.
Additionally, City Council voted 8-1 on proposed increases in the water and sewer rates. This was the first reading reading of the proposed water, and sewer fee increases.
