Irving Police seek Hit and Run driver

On Sunday, October 2 at about 10:56 a.m., the Irving Police Department responded to the 600 block of E. Grauwyler Road, for a report of a vehicle – pedestrian accident. When officers arrived they found two pedestrians lying on the north sidewalk area suffering from severe injuries. Based on the initial investigation, it appears that a green Mazda 626 was traveling eastbound on Grauwyler Road when it crossed over the westbound lanes of traffic onto the sidewalk area along the north side of Grauwyler striking two pedestrians. The vehicle failed to stop and continued for about one mile but became disabled. The driver of the vehicle then fled on foot.

The 57-year-old female pedestrian was taken to Parkland Hospital with serious injuries. The seven-year-old female pedestrian was transported to Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. The adult is in serious but stable condition and the child is in critical but stable condition.

Investigators have been able to identify the driver of the suspect vehicle as Marvin Perez, 27, of Irving. Perez is described as a Hispanic male, 5’6”, weighing about 160 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. An arrest warrant for Accident Involving Injury or Death has been issued for Perez with a bond amount of $100,000.00.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Perez. If anyone has information about his whereabouts they are asked to call the Irving Police Department at 972-273-1010.
