On December 13, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Roanoke patrol officers were alerted to a suspicious vehicle believed to be connected to catalytic converter thefts across the metroplex. The vehicle was spotted in the area of Morningside Drive in Roanoke.
A Roanoke officer located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle failed to yield and fled northbound on US Highway 377 before turning eastbound onto State Highway 114. The pursuit continued into the Town of Westlake, where the pursuing officer was involved in a collision with an uninvolved third vehicle.
The suspect vehicle was not involved in the accident and was not located by responding officers at the time. Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle were evaluated by medics at the scene and did not require hospital transport. The Keller Police Department conducted the accident investigation.
Later, the suspects were apprehended by the Grapevine Police Department. The investigation into potential charges is ongoing.
