The Irving Police Department issued a broadcast to all media this week in regards to the recent increase in auto thefts. According to the Police Department, a popular target of thiefs are the Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks.
"We encourage you to make sure that your vehicle is locked, it is parked in a well lit area, and if equipped with an alarm system, it is activated. If you have a truck like this and it is normally parked in your driveway, parking another vehicle behind it can deter possible theft. As always, we encourage you to call 911 if you notice any suspicious vehicles or persons in your neighborhood."
