A Texas Highway Patrol trooper is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle during a crash investigation on the Dallas North Tollway early Monday morning.
On December 16, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Trooper Austin Parrott was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash. He arrived on the scene at 12:40 a.m. and began assisting with traffic direction while speaking with a bystander on the shoulder of the road.
At approximately 12:41 a.m., a passenger vehicle driven by 20-year-old Talha Noaman approached from behind and struck Trooper Parrott, the bystander, and the patrol unit.
Emergency responders administered roadside CPR to Trooper Parrott before transporting him to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, where he remains in the ICU with severe head trauma. His condition is listed as stable but critical.
The bystander was transported to the hospital and released after treatment for minor injuries.
Talha Noaman was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and booked into the Collin County Jail.
