Lake Worth Police Arrest Man with Suppressed MAC-10 Pistol Following Domestic Disturbance

Lance Darden

On Monday morning, December 16, Northwest Emergency Communications Center (NWECC) received a report of a domestic disturbance involving a suspect allegedly in possession of a MAC-10 pistol. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Lance Darden, left the scene before officers arrived.

An alert Lake Worth Police patrolman later recognized Darden at a nearby hotel, where he was safely detained. Officers found a suppressed MAC-10 machine pistol with an extended magazine in his possession.

Lake Worth Detectives are investigating whether the firearm was modified to function as a machine gun. Darden was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Family Member. Additional charges are pending the results of the firearm analysis.

“As a reminder – crime in our community remains at an all-time low,” said Chief J.T. Manoushagian. “We share these cases with you not to cause alarm, but rather to highlight the incredible work that our officers do day-in and day-out that keeps our community safe. It is because of their relentless effort that violent crime is nearly non-existent. I’m incredibly thankful for the men and women of this department, and for the heroic work they do every day.”
