On Monday, December 23, 2024, Dallas Police Officer Nakisha Laniece Cardwell, badge number 11548, was arrested by the Mesquite Police Department for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Misdemeanor B, and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, Misdemeanor A. She was booked into the Mesquite Jail at 4:35 a.m., with her bond set at $2,500.
Officer Cardwell, who has been with the Dallas Police Department since July 2018 and is assigned to the South Central Patrol Division, is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an Internal Affairs investigation.
