On December 23, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Dallas Police officers responded to a shooting call in the 7500 block of Chaucer Place in the Red Bird area.
Upon arrival, officers found 36-year-old Oliver Moffett suffering from gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The investigation led officers to a suspect who was later located at a local hospital. The individual is in custody, and charges are pending. Authorities have stated that the suspect's name will not be released until formal booking into jail.
This case remains under active investigation, documented under case number 191197-2024.
