Demolition of the annex portion of the Fort Worth Convention Center has begun as part of a multi-phase redevelopment project.
The demolition will allow for the straightening of Commerce Street and create space for future hotel development.
Construction on a new southeast entrance and other enhancements within the existing building footprint is already underway.
The iconic "flying saucer" arena is slated for demolition in the first half of 2027. It will be replaced with expanded exhibit halls, modern meeting rooms, and a second Ballroom.
The entire redevelopment project is expected to be completed by 2030.
