Ordonez-Godoy, a Honduran national with no known local address, allegedly threatened the victim and compelled her to withdraw money from a nearby bank. He then drove her approximately 22 miles to the Camden Apartments in Grapevine, where she was briefly restrained. The victim managed to escape and seek help while the suspect fled in her vehicle.

The stolen vehicle was entered into law enforcement databases with a note of the violent nature of the offense. The victim was physically unharmed during the incident.

On the evening of December 25, an Oklahoma City police officer located the stolen vehicle in a parking lot on SW 39th Street. Ordonez-Godoy was found inside the vehicle and taken into custody. Evidence linked to the kidnapping and robbery was recovered at the scene.
