On December 29, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a disturbance call in the 1900 block of Caddo Street in Old East Dallas.
The preliminary investigation revealed that 52-year-old Ketsanasak Nachampassak violently assaulted his 88-year-old aunt, Vannakham Nachampassak, in her bedroom. According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Nachampassak admitted to kicking his aunt 10 to 20 times during the incident. He reportedly stayed with her for an hour and a half before she became unresponsive. Only then did he call another individual, who alerted police.
Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Police also stated that Nachampassak admitted to assaulting his aunt multiple times over the past several months, claiming it was a form of discipline.
Nachampassak was arrested and charged with Murder. His bond was set at $500,000, and he is being held at the Dallas County Jail. The case remains under investigation and is documented under case number 193988-2024.
