Wolde Michael Endrias, 58, a Dallas resident originally from Glasgow, UK, was convicted of two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with a 2022 shooting outside Noble Bar and Lounge on Greenville Avenue.
On the evening of November 22, 2022, during the Thanksgiving weekend, the victim, 60-year-old Tombossa Negusse, originally from Ethiopia, was attending a family reunion in Dallas. After dinner, Negusse, his sister Timinit Negusse, and other family members drove to the bar to pick up his children before heading home.
While waiting outside the bar, Negusse was approached by Endrias, who initiated a verbal altercation. As Negusse turned to walk back to his car, Endrias shot him multiple times in the back. Negusse sustained serious injuries. Endrias also reportedly threatened the sister before fleeing the scene.
The Dallas Police Department apprehended Endrias days later. He claimed self-defense during his trial, but the jury rejected his argument.
On November 22, 2024, exactly two years after the incident, Endrias was found guilty. He received a 20-year prison sentence for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and an additional year in jail for Deadly Conduct.
The prosecution team included lead prosecutor Priscilla Pelli, second chair Shawnkeedra Martin, DA Investigator JD Williams, DA Victim Advocate Claudia Arnick, and DA Paralegal Maria Cantrell.
Endrias has filed an appeal but remains in custody.
