On January 16, 2025, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Dallas police officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit that ended in an officer-involved shooting in Red Oak, Ellis County, Texas.
The preliminary investigation revealed that officers were pursuing a capital murder suspect. The chase concluded with a traffic accident involving the suspect's vehicle and an uninvolved vehicle on southbound Interstate 35 near the intersection of Red Oak Road.
No officers were injured during the incident.
The Office of Community Police Oversight was notified and responded to the scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety will conduct the investigation into the officer-involved shooting. The Red Oak Police Department is handling the investigation into the traffic accident.
