New Convention Center collects more hospitality excellence awards for Irving

Just 10 months into operation, the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas (ICCLC) lands its fifth Adrian Award from Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI), securing Adrian Award number 11 for the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB).

The Irving Convention Center’s new opening launch campaign earned a Bronze Adrian Award in the Campaign category of HSMAI’s 55th annual Adrian Awards competition, the largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition globally.

More than 1,000 entries were submitted and judged by expert hospitality, travel, tourism and media professionals from all sectors of the industry.

“With sales and marketing resources being extremely limited, it’s more vital than ever that we assure the resources we expend are delivering what they need to,” said Maura Allen Gast, ICVB executive director. “Having leaders in the advertising and marketing worlds recognize the initiatives of this organization – not just as good advertising, but work that achieved its goals – is invaluable.”

To sweeten the win, HSMAI’s Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter named the ICCLC Venue of the Year for 2011, succeeding other top 2011 finalists including, Cowboys Stadium and the Belo Mansion. Top nominees and venue winner are determined by scores tallied from program critiques completed by attendees at each HSMAI Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter monthly meeting.

Gast adds, “The Dallas/Fort Worth market is highly competitive from a venue standpoint and home to many of our best customers. Recognition as Venue of the Year is an important win for us on many fronts.”

Irving will be honored at the annual HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala on Feb. 27, 2012 at the New York Marriott Marquis. All winning entries will be accessible in the Adrian Awards Winners Gallery online following the gala. For more information on HSMAI, visit hsmai.org and hsmaidfw.org.
