On the morning of January 17, 2025, the Waxahachie Police Department served a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of West Jefferson, leading to the arrest of 40-year-old Erin Leigh Martinez.
The search warrant stemmed from reports of possible drug activity in the area, which prompted proactive patrol efforts by the Waxahachie Police Department. Information gathered during these efforts allowed the Criminal Investigation Division to obtain the warrant.
The operation was carried out with the assistance of the Southern Regional Response Group and was executed without injuries to individuals in the residence or law enforcement personnel.
Martinez was taken into custody at the scene and charged with Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony.
The Waxahachie Police Department extended its thanks to Waxahachie Animal Control, Waxahachie Building and Community Services Code Enforcement, Water Utilities, and Ellis County Child Protective Services for their support in the operation.
