Fort Cavazos Soldier Killed in High-Speed Motorcycle Crash in Killeen

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, at approximately 1:55 p.m., Killeen Police officers responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of State Highway 195 and Creek Place Drive. Upon arrival, officers found that a motorcycle had collided with a pickup truck at the intersection.

According to the preliminary investigation, a black Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound on SH 195 at a high rate of speed, weaving between vehicles. A red Toyota pickup truck, traveling eastbound on Creek Place Drive and preparing to turn northbound onto SH 195, entered the median when the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the truck.

The motorcyclist, identified as a 20-year-old Fort Cavazos soldier, was pronounced deceased at the scene at 2:16 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Nicola James, who ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas. The soldier’s name is being withheld until next of kin is notified. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck did not report any injuries.
