Officer Burton, who has been with the department since July 2019 and is currently assigned to the Community Operations Division, has been placed on administrative leave pending an Internal Affairs investigation.
The following day, Sunday, January 26, 2025, Dallas Police Call Analyst Evelyn Keith was arrested by the Mesquite Police Department for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor B charge. Keith, who has been with the department since November 2023 and works in the Communications Division, is also on administrative leave while an Internal Affairs investigation takes place.
