On Sunday, January 26, 2025, at approximately 1:23 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 3600 block of Moonstone Drive in East Oak Cliff. Upon investigation, it was determined that 18-year-old James Rust had been shot. He was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle, where he later died from his injuries.
