On Sunday afternoon, February 16, 2025, DeSoto Police received multiple emergency calls reporting property damage and unknown individuals ringing doorbells before running away. Reports included vandalism to mailboxes, front doors, garage doors, solar lights, and landscaping décor.
Citizens provided police with surveillance footage capturing the suspect vehicle and its occupants during the incidents. A few hours later, officers from DeSoto PD’s Bravo Shift identified and located the vehicle, a gray Ford Escape, at a residence in DeSoto.
Investigators determined that several juveniles had sneaked out of the house overnight and engaged in random acts of mischief. The juveniles were identified, and their parents are cooperating with law enforcement. They are currently facing misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and theft.
DeSoto Police urge any residents who believe they were affected by the vandalism to call (972) 223-6111 to file a report. Citizens with photo or video evidence are encouraged to share it with police to assist in the investigation.
