On Sunday, February 16, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Bell County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted Temple Police in the 17100 block of N.E. H.K. Dodgen Loop near 50th Street following reports of car burglaries in the area.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle, a white Kia Soul, and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, leading law enforcement on a pursuit. The chase continued until the vehicle crashed in the 5000 block of South 31st Street near Water’s Dairy Road in Temple. The occupants fled on foot but were apprehended with assistance from the Temple Police K-9 unit.
The driver, identified as 18-year-old Jaedyn Sanders, was arrested and booked into the Bell County Jail on charges of evading arrest in a motor vehicle, evading arrest on foot, and an outstanding criminal trespass warrant from the Temple Police Department. Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey set Sanders’ bond at $5,000 for evading arrest on foot and $2,000 for criminal trespass, with an arraignment pending for evading arrest in a vehicle.
A juvenile was also detained for evading arrest on foot.
The Kia Soul was confirmed as stolen, and the vehicle burglaries and auto theft remain under investigation by the Temple Police Department.
