Two San Antonio Men Arrested in Gainesville Linked to Burglaries and $1.2 Million in Stolen Property

Rahsaan Osaro Lackey and Travis William Marvin

On Monday, March 10, 2025, around 7:00 a.m., a Gainesville Police officer patrolling the area near Lexington Square Apartments observed a Black male exiting the west door of the complex. Upon spotting the patrol unit, the individual fled northwest.

Additional officers responded to assist in locating the suspect. The Drone as First Responder (DFR) Program was activated, and a drone with thermal imaging was launched to aid the search. The drone located the suspect lying in a field north of the apartments, and he was taken into custody. The individual initially provided a false name but was later identified as Rahsaan Osaro Lackey, 32, of San Antonio.

While officers investigated the burglary at Lexington Square, another burglary was reported at Grayhill Apartments, where an office had been forcibly entered, and a safe was reported stolen.

During the investigation, officers located a U-Haul truck backed into a parking space near the Lexington Square office. The truck’s windows were clear despite the cool morning temperature, prompting officers to investigate further. Inside the vehicle, officers found a male subject lying in the front seat, identified as Travis William Marvin, 36, also of San Antonio. Marvin was found in possession of narcotics and was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

A search of the U-Haul revealed a large amount of stolen property, including the safe from Grayhill Apartments. Authorities also recovered checks, money orders, and cash exceeding $1.2 million. Items found inside the vehicle were linked to burglaries spanning areas between San Antonio and Love County, Oklahoma.

Rahsaan Lackey faces multiple charges:

  • Burglary of a Habitation (San Antonio warrant)
  • Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle (San Antonio warrant)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (San Antonio warrant)
  • Burglary of a Building (State Jail Felony)
  • Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information (Felony 1)
  • Evading Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • Failure to Identify Fugitive Intent False Information (Class A Misdemeanor)

Authorities confirmed that investigators are working with other agencies, and additional charges are expected.
