Man Sentenced to Life for Murder of Estranged Wife's Boyfriend in Arlington

Mark Anthony Washington

Mark Anthony Washington, 58, was found guilty of Murder and sentenced to life in prison by a Tarrant County jury on March 28, 2025.

Washington was convicted of the April 15, 2019, murder of 29-year-old Juriah Fields. Washington drove from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Arlington to kill Fields, who was the new boyfriend of Washington's estranged wife.

Fields was shot outside his home on Rosarita Road in Southeast Arlington and died at a local hospital.

Evidence presented at trial showed that Washington had threatened to take his wife and Fields to a deserted area and force his wife to shoot Fields. Facebook messages from Washington to Fields' niece also indicated that he blamed Fields for ruining his marriage.

The Arlington Police Department conducted the investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Jeff Steward and Matthew Jackson, with assistance from DA Investigator Caleb Blanks and Victim Coordinator Imelda Lopez.
