UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Gerald Frazier. On April 14, 2025, 31-year-old Skylar Wells was arrested in connection with this case. He is charged with Murder. He is also charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and 4 counts of Assaulting Peace Officers. His bond has been set at $760,000.

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Dallas Police officers responded to a shooting call in the 3300 block of Springview Avenue in the Cedar Crest neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had been shot at the location. Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics responded to the scene and determined that the victim had died from his injuries.
The Dallas Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the shooting, which will be documented under case number 049894-2025.
