A Dallas County jury found 32-year-old Chris Mancellus Johnson guilty of two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Aggravated Kidnapping, sentencing him to 15 years in prison.
On the morning of the attack, a 66-year-old woman was walking to a bus stop around 4:30 a.m. on her way to work when Johnson kidnapped her. During the abduction, Johnson broke the victim’s hip.
He took the victim to an abandoned construction site, where he sexually assaulted her. After the assault, Johnson left the victim at the site. The victim was able to call police, but before officers arrived, Johnson returned to the scene and was arrested there by Garland Police.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Tristan DerMargosian and Klarissa Diaz, with investigative support from DA Investigator Abigail Cruz and victim support from DA Victim Advocate Adrianna Sellers. The Garland Police Department led the investigation.
