For the fourth consecutive year, Brandenburg Elementary School has emerged victorious in the annual Penny Drive for Special Olympics Texas! This year, the students and staff at Brandenburg Elementary School impressively raised nearly $13,000 for the Special Olympics Texas - Greater Dallas Area.
The fundraising spirit was strong across the district, with Townley Elementary and Paul Keyes Elementary also making significant contributions, each raising over $5,000 for the worthy cause. In total, an incredible 15 Irving ISD schools united to raise almost $41,000 for Special Olympics Texas.
To celebrate this remarkable community effort and express their gratitude, district-wide dance parties were held at every participating school, with teachers and staff joining in the fun. The top three fundraising schools – Brandenburg Elementary, Townley Elementary, and Paul Keyes Elementary – were also rewarded with special ice cream parties.

A special shout-out was also given to the Irving Police Department and Courts staff who enthusiastically joined in the dance parties, showcasing their spirited moves and further demonstrating the community's support for Special Olympics Texas.
This collective achievement truly exemplifies the power of community, and the funds raised will make a significant impact on the athletes of Special Olympics Texas - Greater Dallas Area.
