Four Life Sentences for Drug Trafficker Following Major Drug and Firearm Bust in Cleburne

Alexis Moorer

Alexis Moorer was found guilty by a Johnson County jury on multiple serious charges, including three counts of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (4 grams to less than 200 grams, Penalty Group 1) and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The jury also applied the new fentanyl enhancement, recognizing the serious danger these narcotics pose to the community. Moorer was sentenced to four life sentences as a result of the conviction.

The case began after a proactive traffic stop by Cleburne Police Officers in 2023.  During that stop, they recovered 183 fentanyl pills, 11 grams of cocaine, 102 grams of methamphetamine, and a stolen firearm from the vehicle. The subsequent  investigation revealed Moorer’s involvement in trafficking large amounts of controlled substances and possession of a firearm despite a prior felony conviction.

The Cleburne Police Department credited sharp attention to detail from patrol officers during the roadside investigation and praised crime scene and property technicians for their precise handling of evidence. The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office worked diligently to prepare the case for trial, securing the conviction and ensuring a just outcome.

This conviction highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement and prosecutors to remove deadly narcotics and illegal firearms from the community, emphasizing the critical role of teamwork in combating drug trafficking and violent crime.
