A Dallas man has been sentenced to more than 21 years in federal prison for the sex trafficking of a 17-year-old minor victim, announced Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Nancy E. Larson today.
Renald Antae Brown, 42, pleaded guilty to federal charges of Sex Trafficking of a Minor in January 2025. U.S. District Judge Ada Brown sentenced him today to 262 months in federal prison and ordered him to pay $25,000 in restitution to the minor victim.
According to court documents, the investigation began in January 2023 when agents with the North Texas Trafficking Task Force received a lead from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding a suspected victim of Child Sex Trafficking. Law enforcement agents located a commercial sex advertisement featuring photographs of the minor female, prompting them to organize an operation to rescue the child. The victim was subsequently recovered from a Dallas-area hotel.
The minor victim informed law enforcement that she met Brown after running away from foster care in November 2022. Brown offered her a place to stay but then demanded that she perform sex acts and surrender all proceeds to him. The victim understood that non-compliance would result in her being removed from the residence.
In plea documents, Brown admitted to managing the minor victim’s advertisements and coaching her on how to interact with customers. Prosecutors also informed the Court at today’s sentencing that Brown had a prior conviction for Compelling Prostitution.
Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson commended the efforts of the law enforcement agents and officers with the North Texas Trafficking Task Force, led by Homeland Security Investigations, for their work on the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Winters prosecuted the case.
