The City of Irving's eighth annual Road to the Future Summer Overlay Program is set to begin in June, with planned improvements on 26 roadways across the city. The program, managed by the City of Irving Traffic and Transportation Department’s Streets Division, will target a mix of major corridors and residential streets.
Crews will perform a full asphalt overlay, which involves removing the existing asphalt down to the street’s base, then laying and paving new asphalt. Weather permitting, this process is typically completed within a couple of weeks per street.
The following streets are included in the 2025 Summer Overlay Program:
- Arawe Circle, from Luzon Road to Luzon Road
- Burning Tree Lane, from Keyhole Street to Pleasant Run Road
- Cabasa de Vaca Circle, from 3708 Cabasa de Vaca Circle to Wingren Drive
- Canyon Oaks Drive, from W. Grauwyler Road to E. Northgate Drive
- Carl Road, from E. Grauwyler Road to end
- Colony Drive, from N. MacArthur Boulevard to William Brewster Street
- Cripple Creek Drive, from W. Grauwyler Road to end
- Cross Bend Court, from Hackmore Loop to Woodenrail Lane
- Cross Bend Court, from Cross Bend Court to end
- English Street, from E. Pioneer Drive to E. Union Bower Road
- Hunter Ferrell Road, from S. MacArthur Boulevard to S. Nursery Road
- N. Irving Heights Drive, from E. Grauwyler Road to E. Pioneer Drive
- Live Oak Drive, from W. Grauwyler Road to Colony Drive
- Luzon Road, from S. Briery Road to St. Lo Drive
- Jefferson Street, from E. Pioneer Drive to Mavis Street
- N. Nursery Road, from E. Pioneer Drive to E. Shady Grove Road
- Peveto Drive, from Lindy Lane to end
- St. Lo Drive, from Luzon Road to S. Briery Road
- Texas Plaza Drive, from Loop 12 to Tom Braniff Drive
- Tom Braniff Drive, from Toledo Drive to State Highway 183
- E. Union Bower Road, from N. Nursery Road to N. Irving Heights Drive
- Village Green Drive, from Kings Country Drive to end
- W. Walnut Hill Lane, N. Story Road to N. Belt Line Road
- Walton Boulevard, from Ranchview Drive to Market Place Boulevard
- S. Wildwood Drive, from Irving Boulevard to Hinton Drive
- Wingren Road, from Rochelle Boulevard to Santa Clara Street
Drivers are advised to exercise caution in work zones, drive slowly, remain alert for crews, pedestrians, and other drivers, avoid distracted driving, and be patient.
