PLANO, Texas — On July 19, 2025, at around 10 p.m., Plano Patrol Officers responded to a welfare concern in the 3400 block of West Park Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found that a woman had managed to escape her home after being held against her will by her husband, who actively blocked her from seeking help.
Officers attempted to make contact with the 47-year-old subject, later identified as Kevin Riviere, of Plano, but he refused cooperation. The department subsequently deployed its Emergency Services Unit, establishing a perimeter and engaging police negotiators.
Negotiators successfully communicated with Riviere, persuading him to surrender peacefully and allowing officers to arrest him without incident. No force was used and no injuries were reported.
Riviere faces charges of unlawful restraint and other outstanding warrants, with additional charges expected as the investigation continues. He is currently being held at the Collin County Detention Center. The case remains under active investigation by the Plano Police Department.
