IRVING, TX – The Irving Independent School District (ISD) proudly announced that its Board Secretary, Lisa Lobb, has successfully completed the rigorous Leadership TASB (LTASB) program, earning her the esteemed designation of Master Trustee.

LTASB is recognized as Texas’ premier trustee leadership training program, designed to connect school board leaders with their core purpose of serving the state's 5.5 million public school students. Since its inception in 1990, more than 1,000 trustees have completed the year-long program.

"Leadership TASB has been the most enriching and educational training experience I have had as a School Board Trustee,” shared Board Secretary Lobb. “It has shown me the diversity of districts all over Texas and the unique challenges each district has. It has strengthened my determination to learn about proposed legislation that affects public schools and to not be afraid to talk to lawmakers on behalf of Irving ISD and the 5.5 million public school children in our state. I want to thank Irving ISD for supporting me this past year as I completed the requirements to become a Master Trustee. I continue to be proud to serve my community by serving its local school district and making decisions where children come first.”

The LTASB Class of 2025 celebrated their graduation on June 20 during a special ceremony held in conjunction with the Texas Association of School Boards’ (TASB) Summer Leadership Institute in Fort Worth.

Each year, a select cohort of experienced board members is chosen based on their demonstrated leadership within their local school districts and communities. These trustees represent diverse districts across the state, varying in size and student populations.

"We at TASB are pleased to recognize these 33 outstanding school board trustees who have spent the last year exploring best practices in board governance, leadership, and advocacy,” said Dan Troxell, TASB executive director. “LTASB continues to be one of the most transformative training programs that TASB offers its members, and every year we are excited to watch trustees expand their knowledge through this learning experience.”

The cohort’s journey began in September 2024 with an inaugural session in San Antonio, including visits to Fort Sam Houston and Randolph Field ISDs. They then traveled to El Paso in November 2024, visiting schools in San Elizario and El Paso ISDs. In February, the group participated in the inaugural Leadership TASB Connect & Ignite Conference, networking with LTASB alums and engaging with lawmakers at the Capitol, in addition to exploring schools at Hutto ISD. Their travels continued in April, taking them to Brazos and the Research Valley for on-site visits at Bryan and College Station ISDs.

Including the final event in Fort Worth, the Class of 2025 traveled more than 2,300 miles by land and air, collectively visiting districts that serve approximately 120,000 students.
