PARKER COUNTY, TX – Two men were killed and two others seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision on FM 51 and Veal Station Road in Weatherford on Monday morning.
At approximately 6:10 a.m. on August 4, multiple emergency responders arrived at the scene. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a passenger car driven by Timothy Lee Herrera, 24, was traveling northbound on FM 51 when it hydroplaned due to recent heavy rains. The car veered into the southbound lane and collided with an SUV.
Herrera and one of his passengers, Preston Mathis Duffy, 19, were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 22-year-old passenger from the same vehicle was transported to a Fort Worth hospital with serious injuries. The 35-year-old woman driving the SUV was also extricated from her vehicle and taken to a Fort Worth hospital with serious injuries.
Lanes of FM 51 were closed while DPS investigators worked the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
