FRISCO, TX — The Frisco Police Department has arrested 27-year-old Vanessa Esquivel of Dallas after the death of her 15-month-old child, who was left in a hot vehicle.
Authorities say that on August 16, 2025, Esquivel arrived at her workplace in the 3200 block of Preston Road around 2:00 p.m., leaving the child in a car without air conditioning for over two hours, with outside temperatures exceeding 95 degrees. The child later died.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Esquivel with first-degree murder, a felony punishable by 5 years to life in prison and a fine up to $10,000. She was arrested on August 20 and is being held at the Collin County Jail with bond set at $250,000.
