FORT WORTH, Texas—A jury has found Tranell Antwon Pleasant, 36, guilty of murder and sentenced him to life in prison for the shooting death of his 42-year-old uncle, Shelton Dwayne Harris.
The fatal shooting occurred on February 8, 2021, during a verbal argument at a South Fort Worth home.
During the punishment phase of the trial, the jury heard evidence that Pleasant is a habitual offender with multiple prior prison sentences for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault against family members.
The prosecution was handled by Madeline Jones and James Zaleta.
