Nathaniel Sepeda

DALLAS, TX – Dallas Police arrested 19-year-old Nathaniel Sepeda early September 24 after he attempted to steal a vehicle and evade officers in a multi-division pursuit.

Officers from the Central Patrol Division responded around 3:30 a.m. to the 1900 block of North Lamar Street. Using real-time tracking through Dallas Fusion, police monitored Sepeda’s movements as he made several stops and switched vehicles in an effort to avoid capture. He was ultimately apprehended in the 700 block of South Walton Walker Boulevard with assistance from patrol and covert units.

Both vehicles operated by Sepeda were confirmed stolen. A search of one vehicle revealed a grocery bag containing marijuana, approximately $4,300 in cash, multiple identification cards, stolen license plates, two vehicle programming scanners, burglary tools, and five firearms.

Sepeda was taken to the Lew Sterrett Justice Center and charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle (Class A Misdemeanor), Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle (Class A Misdemeanor), Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (State Jail Felony), and multiple outstanding warrants, including two felony warrants.

Deputy Chief Devon Palk emphasized the department’s proactive approach, saying, “Through collaboration and advanced technology, our teams continue to make our city safer by preventing and addressing crime before it spreads.”
