A Tarrant County jury convicted 38-year-old Clifford Johnson of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and he was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
On August 20, 2022, Johnson and a woman he was dating were driving when their tire blew out. As the woman attempted to change the tire, Johnson pushed her down, punched her head, and stomped on her face.
A passing vehicle arrived nearby, prompting the woman to run toward it. Johnson fired at the car, striking a tire and the passenger door.
Fort Worth Police Department responded and arrested Johnson. The case was prosecuted by Kimberly Barragon and Stephany Fitz.
