Irving Man Arrested After Pointing Loaded Gun During Road Rage Incident

Brendan James McNair

On October 18, 2025, at about 7:15 p.m., an Irving Police officer responded to a call about a man with a gun near MacArthur Boulevard and State Highway 161.

The victim, 24-year-old Clayton Andrew Rowe, told officers he had been involved in a road rage incident with another driver, later identified as 24-year-old Brendan James McNair of South Irving. According to Rowe, McNair pulled up beside him on southbound 161 at Las Colinas Boulevard and pointed a black handgun at his face.  Rowe hit the breaks to allow the Bronco to pass him.

Rowe followed McNair’s gray Ford Bronco until officers made contact near Highway 161 and Walnut Hill Road. McNair was detained without incident.

A search of McNair’s vehicle led to the recovery of a black Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm handgun, which was fully loaded with a round in the chamber, inside the center console.

Following the investigation, McNair was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was booked into the Irving Jail before being transferred to the Dallas County Jail on October 19. McNair has since bonded out.
