IRVING, TX - An Irving man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his ex-partner and her boyfriend during a child exchange Monday evening, according to the Irving Police Department.
On October 20, 2025, around 7:30 p.m., Officer Tyler Dunlop was dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of North Story Road, near West Pioneer Drive.
When Officer Dunlop arrived, he met with the two victims, 24-year-old Yanci Salazar and 22-year-old Kilmar Alexander Garcia, who reported that they had gone to the residence of Salazar’s ex-partner, 32-year-old Carlos Flores, for a child exchange.
During the exchange, Flores allegedly became upset upon seeing another man present and began striking Salazar multiple times in the face with a closed fist, causing visible injuries to the right side of her face. When Garcia exited the vehicle to defend Salazar, Flores reportedly struck him several times as well, leaving visible facial injuries.
According to police, Flores then produced a small pocketknife, pointed it toward both victims, and threatened to kill them. The victims fled the scene and called 911.
Officers located Flores at his residence a short time later. He was taken into custody without incident. Four additional officers responded to assist during the arrest.
Flores was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a hold on Flores, who police say is an undocumented immigrant. He remains in custody at the Dallas County Jail.
