Fort Worth Woman Sentenced to 25 Years for Shooting That Left Victim Paralyzed

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced that 47-year-old Lola Tonicia Slaughter has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault with a weapon that resulted in paralysis.

According to investigators, on June 14, 2024, Slaughter was visiting a man she was dating at his home on South Jennings Street in Fort Worth when she shot him multiple times before leaving the scene. One of the bullets became lodged in the victim’s spine, and doctors were unable to remove it. The man remains partially paralyzed.

Fort Worth Police arrested Slaughter three days later, on June 17, 2024, and she has remained in the Tarrant County Jail since her arrest.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jasmine Banks.
