MARION COUNTY, TX – Early on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Northeast Texas game wardens responded to a fatal hunting accident involving a 45-year-old Grapevine man.
Jose Ramirez was fatally injured when a firearm discharged while he was removing it from a vehicle. Life-saving measures were attempted at the scene, but Ramirez succumbed to his injuries.
Texas Game Wardens emphasized the importance of firearm safety, reminding hunters to always treat guns as loaded, keep muzzles pointed in a safe direction, and unload firearms before placing or removing them from vehicles.
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the agency said. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
