Meet the Irving ISD School Board Members: Leaders Shaping Education in Irving, TX

The Irving Independent School District is led by a board of trustees committed to shaping the education, safety, and future success of students across the district. Each member brings a unique combination of professional experience, community service, and personal dedication to education.

A.D. Jenkins – President, District 5 (Elected 2016, Term Ends 2028)

A third-term trustee, Jenkins first served on the Irving ISD Board from 2008 to 2011. He is a lifelong advocate for students and athletics, volunteering at all district high schools. Jenkins has received recognition as a PTA Life Member and NAACP Service Award recipient for his community service.

Professionally, he is a software engineer with Cima Solutions Group and founder of the B.I.G. D.O.G.S. Youth Organization, mentoring countless students. A father of three, Jenkins has raised his sons within the district and continues to serve as a father figure to many more students.

Michael Kelley – Vice President, District 2 (Elected 2020, Term Ends 2026)

A native of Irving, Kelley attended Townley Elementary, Bowie Middle School, and Nimitz High School. He spent 17 years in manufacturing before becoming a realtor, and he now coaches youth baseball while actively leading in his neighborhood association and the Irving-Las Colinas ABMUCS.

Kelley also contributed to the Irving Parks and Recreation Vision Committee and has been a member of Fellowship Church for 20 years. He and his wife, Stefanie, have two sons attending Irving ISD schools. Kelley’s long-standing connection to the community gives him firsthand insight into local educational needs.

Lisa Lobb – Secretary, District 6 (Elected 2022, Term Ends 2028)

Lobb has been an educator in Irving ISD since 1998, teaching business, technology, and broadcasting through the KIRV program. She has led professional development sessions across campus, district, regional, and national levels. Lobb has extensive experience in grant writing, curriculum development, and strategic planning, helping to shape career and technical education programs at Irving High School.

Her accolades include Irving High School Teacher of the Year, Region X Secondary Educator of the Year, PTA Life Membership, and recognition by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as one of the Top Ten Most Inspiring Teachers in Texas. Lobb and her husband Chuck have children who attended district schools and remain active in community and church activities.

Nuzhat Hye – District 4 (Elected 2018, Term Ends 2027)

With over 45 years in education, Hye’s career includes roles as teacher, principal, and founder of multiple educational institutions. She has been a trustee for seven years and focuses on collaboration with parents, teachers, and community members to improve student outcomes.

Hye and her husband have been active in the Irving community since 1989, and she is a mother of five and grandmother of 11. Her vast experience in education, combined with her dedication to student success and equity, makes her an influential voice on the board.

Randy Randle – District 7 (Elected 2013, Term Ends 2028)

A lifelong Irving resident and University of Texas at Arlington graduate in Accounting, Randle has been a leader in schools and the community for decades. He has held multiple PTA and booster roles, served on campus improvement and district committees, and was active on the Irving City Council.

During his 12-year tenure on the school board, Randle has served as an executive officer for nine years, helped pass the district’s first bond election in 16 years, and played a key role in lowering tax rates. He is married with two sons who attended Irving ISD schools and has been a pillar of his church community for nearly seven decades.

Mary Richarte – District 3 (Appointed 2022, Term Ends 2027)

Richarte, also known as “Mariposa,” has been an engaged community member for 25 years. Starting as a PTA volunteer and president, she has served on advisory committees across the district, including Campus Improvement, Health Advisory, Parent Advisory, and Superintendent Advisory.

Her work emphasizes parent involvement, advocacy for students, and collaboration with educators. Richarte is a mother and grandmother, committed to enhancing educational opportunities for all students in Irving.

Vacant – District 1

This seat is currently unfilled, leaving an opportunity for community members to serve and contribute to shaping the educational landscape in Irving ISD.

These trustees collectively bring a mix of educational expertise, community engagement, leadership experience, and personal commitment to students and families, ensuring that the Irving ISD continues to provide high-quality education and support for all children in the district.
