Man Dies After Dog Attack in West Dallas, Police Say

Dallas police are investigating a fatal dog attack that occurred Wednesday afternoon in West Dallas.

Officers were dispatched around 3 p.m. on January 7 to the 4100 block of Esmalda Drive after receiving a “police request by fire” call. During the preliminary investigation, officers learned the incident had actually occurred about a block away, inside a home in the 4100 block of Pringle Drive.

According to investigators, an adult male was attacked by a dog inside the residence. He suffered severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police have not released the victim’s identity or details about the dog involved as the investigation continues. The circumstances leading up to the attack are still being examined.
