DALLAS, TX - The Dallas Police Department terminated two employees following disciplinary hearings held January 13, 2026, Police Chief Eddie Garcia Comeaux announced.
Police Officer Cesar Rangel, badge No. 12461, assigned to the Northeast Division, was fired for engaging in adverse conduct after being arrested on a charge of indecent assault, a Class A misdemeanor, and for using city equipment for purposes unrelated to departmental business. Department records show Rangel had been employed since September 2022.
In a separate action, Sergeant John Fiore, badge No. 9124, of the Central Division, was terminated after psychological and psychiatric evaluations determined he was unfit to perform the essential duties of a police officer. Fiore had served with the department since May 2007.
Both terminations were finalized during hearings conducted by Chief Comeaux, according to the department.
