Teen Killed in Cedar Crest Shooting, Dallas Police Investigating

DALLAS, TX - A 16-year-old boy was killed Tuesday afternoon after being shot in the Cedar Crest neighborhood, according to Dallas police.

Officers responded around 4:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026, to a report of a shooting in the 3100 block of Seevers Avenue, near South Beckley Avenue and East Kiest Boulevard, the Dallas Police Department said. When officers arrived, they found the teen suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a local hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released because of his age.

Police have not released information about a suspect or a possible motive. The investigation remains ongoing and is being documented under case number 006311-2026.
