DALLAS, TX - A Dallas man is facing multiple felony drug charges after officers seized several illegal narcotics during a traffic stop tied to an investigation into open-air drug sales, police said.
On Friday, January 9, 2026, officers with the Northeast Crime Response Team of the Dallas Police Department apprehended 34-year-old Brandon Jones following an operation that began with an anonymous tip reporting suspected drug activity in the 1800 block of Abshire Lane.
While responding to the area, officers observed the suspect’s vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop. During the encounter, officers determined the vehicle was uninsured and subject to impoundment under department policy.
Before the vehicle was towed, officers conducted an inventory search and discovered concealed felony amounts of narcotics and drug paraphernalia consistent with drug sales, authorities said. The substances recovered included crack cocaine, powder cocaine, oxycodone hydrochloride, and alprazolam.
“This collaborative success—where proactive policing and a community tip led directly to getting a dangerous drug dealer off our streets—makes Dallas safer by removing these narcotics from our neighborhoods,” said Deputy Chief Patricia Mora.
All evidence was processed and secured in the Dallas Police Property Room. Jones has been charged with multiple felonies, including three counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
The investigation is documented under case number 004419-2026.
