DALLAS, TX - Dallas police have identified a teenager whose body was recovered from a pond in South Dallas on Christmas Day.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded around 12:45 p.m. on December 25, 2025, to an “other” call in the 1400 block of Mission Hills Lane in the Piedmont Addition neighborhood. During the response, officers located the body of an unidentified 15-year-old juvenile in a nearby pond.
While investigators were working to identify the teen, a missing persons report was filed the following day, December 26, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., at the department’s Southeast Division station. That report was documented under case number 184183-2025.
Further investigation confirmed that the juvenile recovered from the pond was the same individual reported missing. The Dallas County Medical Examiner later identified the victim as 15-year-old Ariel Alejandro Iraheta-Hernandez (obituary). Ariel was from Honduras and was residing in Dallas at the time of his death.
