Dallas, TX — Members of Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Urban Search and Rescue Team responded Monday to assist a man who was stranded near a steep embankment and could not be reached through normal rescue methods.
On March 9, 2026, Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel were dispatched after reports that a man needed help but was located in an area difficult to access.
Officials said the man, who was believed to be homeless and possibly under the influence of an unknown intoxicant, was positioned near a steep embankment where standard access was not possible.
The Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR) responded to the scene and safely secured the man inside a Stokes rescue basket. Using a rope system, rescuers carefully lifted him up the embankment to street level.
Once at the top, the man was transferred to an awaiting ambulance.
Authorities said the man was not injured but was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
