DALLAS, Texas - Dallas police have released new details following an officer-involved shooting that left a suspect dead after an extended standoff in the city’s Medical District.
The incident occurred Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in a parking structure in the 1900 block of Medical District Drive. According to the Dallas Police Department, no officers were injured.
This marks the sixth officer-involved shooting involving a Dallas police officer in 2026. Five occurred within the department’s jurisdiction, while one involved an off-duty officer in another jurisdiction.
The incident stemmed from an ongoing investigation that began on February 17, when the Irving Police Department issued a bulletin regarding a Black GMC Yukon displaying a stolen U.S. Government license plate.
Through investigative work by Dallas police Intelligence and Fugitive Units, the suspect was identified as 39-year-old Diamon-Maziarre Robinson.
Detectives determined Robinson had been impersonating a federal agent by using police-style uniforms and fictitious identification. He also used the alias “Mike King” and allegedly created fraudulent businesses to hire legitimate police officers for off-duty jobs. Authorities said Robinson was wanted on multiple felony warrants, along with a parole violation warrant.
Investigators also linked Robinson to several vehicles, including a stolen Black GMC Yukon, a stolen white Ford F-250, and a silver Dodge Charger, all displaying a stolen government license plate.
On March 11 at approximately 9:13 p.m., members of the Dallas Police Fugitive Unit located Robinson inside a white Mercedes belonging to an acquaintance in the parking garage.
Officers attempted to negotiate with Robinson for more than an hour, offering him opportunities to speak with family members in an effort to resolve the situation peacefully. When those efforts were unsuccessful, SWAT officers were called to assist and continued negotiations after 10 p.m.
Police said Robinson was given repeated verbal commands to exit the vehicle. At approximately 11:03 p.m., he began to comply but then lowered his right hand and produced a handgun, pointing it at officers.
SWAT officers deployed a chemical agent and a flashbang device before three officers fired their rifles, striking Robinson.
Officers approached and secured the weapon from Robinson’s hand. A SWAT medic immediately began life-saving measures, but Robinson was pronounced dead at 11:09 p.m.
The handgun recovered at the scene was reported stolen. Additional firearms were later recovered from vehicles associated with Robinson and from his residence.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office is conducting an independent investigation into the shooting. The Office of Community Police Oversight has also been briefed.
As is standard procedure, all officers involved have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
