LAKE DALLAS, Texas - A house fire in Lake Dallas after a home explosion left one person injured and temporarily displaced several residents Thursday evening.
On March 19, 2026, at approximately 7:05 p.m., crews from the Lake Cities Fire Department and Lake Dallas Police Department responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of Moseley Street.
When first responders arrived, they found a single-family home fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters quickly began an aggressive attack and were able to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes.
During the incident, one individual was located and treated by emergency medical personnel before being transported via helicopter to a local hospital. Their current condition has not been released.
Several roads in the area were closed and remained shut down into Friday morning as crews worked the scene.
As a precaution, some nearby residents temporarily relocated. Officials said most impacted residents are expected to return home by Friday evening, though some may experience delays due to utility issues.
Atmos Energy is assisting displaced residents and can be contacted at 866-322-8667 for support. The company is also coordinating hotel accommodations for those unable to return home immediately.
The City of Lake Dallas has opened the Community Room at City Hall, located at 212 Main Street, to serve as a central location for assistance and information. Residents needing access to essential items such as medications, baby supplies, or pet necessities can report there for escorted access to their homes.
The cause of the house explosion remains under investigation.
