DALLAS, Texas - Dallas police officers helped save a woman in crisis late Tuesday night after finding her on the edge of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
On March 17, 2026, at approximately 11:38 p.m., officers responded to a call about a distressed woman on the bridge.
When they arrived, officers found her sitting on the edge, preparing to jump into the river below.
Officers immediately began speaking with the woman and called for additional support, including a RIGHT Care team and a Dallas Fire-Rescue swift water rescue team.
First responders spent more than an hour talking with her, maintaining physical contact and working to keep her calm.
Eventually, the woman stood up and stepped back onto the bridge.
Officers then embraced her and ensured she was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Police said the patience, compassion, and quick response by everyone involved helped save her life.
