On March 31, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a Shooting call in the 4400 block of Dallas Fort Worth Service Turnpike (I-30) in West Dallas. The preliminary investigation determined that 28-year-old, Erick Artea Lerma, was shot by 32-year-old, Anthony Rios Rivera, who fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced Artea Lerma dead at the scene.
Rios Rivera was later located and arrested by officers. He is currently booked in jail and being charged with Murder.
